Terms of Service

These terms describe how the website and services of Coral Lantern Rise Kabushiki Kaisha may be used. By using this site, you agree to the terms set out below.

Service usage

This website may be used to review information about the services offered and to submit an enquiry through the contact form. Use for any unlawful purpose is not permitted.

Access to the site is provided without charge; individual consultation and drafting services are subject to the pricing and scope described on the relevant offer page at the time of booking.

Account and access

This website does not currently require account creation. Where a matter proceeds beyond an initial enquiry, communication is handled directly by email or in consultation, and no online account is needed.

Service availability

The website is provided on an as-available basis. Occasional interruptions for maintenance or technical reasons may occur without prior notice.

Content, pricing, and service descriptions may be updated from time to time to reflect current offerings.

Intellectual property

The text, layout, and design of this website belong to Coral Lantern Rise Kabushiki Kaisha unless otherwise indicated, and may not be reproduced without permission.

Before you write in

A short description is enough for a first message: the name or logo you intend to use and the goods or services it will appear on, the kind of licence you have in mind, or the type of commissioned work whose ownership is unclear.

Please avoid sending the full text of an unsigned agreement or an unannounced brand name until a consultation has been confirmed. If timing matters because a product launch or a filing is imminent, mention the date so it can be taken into account.

Replies are normally sent within two to three working days. An enquiry does not create an engagement, and no advice given in a first reply should be acted on as a formal view.

How a matter is handled

Once a service is agreed, the office checks the existing record first: registered marks in the relevant classes, the commissioning contract and invoices, or the licence currently in force. Recommendations follow from that record rather than from assumptions about it.

Each engagement ends with a written summary you can keep, so that the reasoning can be consulted later by you, a successor in your organisation, or a counterparty, without reconstructing it from memory.

Consultations take place at the Midori-ku office in Nagoya or online, at a time agreed in advance.

Prices and scope shown on the site

The prices on the offers page are the fees charged at the time of booking: ¥21,500 for a Trademark Filing Consultation, ¥28,500 for Licence Agreement Drafting, and ¥12,800 for a one-hour Commissioned Work Rights Consultation. Fees paid to the Japan Patent Office or other authorities are not included.

If a question turns out to involve more than one offer, for example a commissioned logo that is also to be registered as a mark, the office will say so before the consultation and agree in writing which services apply.

Use of information you provide

Names, contact details, and descriptions of marks or works sent to this office are used to respond to you and, where you proceed, to carry out the engagement. They are not used for marketing or shared with third parties except where needed for the service you asked for, for example to obtain a registry extract. Requests for disclosure, correction, or deletion of personal information can be made through the contact page in line with the Act on the Protection of Personal Information and the Privacy page.

Public registers and external links

Pages on this site may link to public sources such as the J-PlatPat database operated by the National Center for Industrial Property Information and Training, or to guidance published by the Agency for Cultural Affairs. These are provided so you can check a record yourself; this office does not control their content, availability, or accuracy.

Search results you obtain from a public register before a consultation are useful background, but a registry search for a client is read alongside the classes and the goods or services actually intended, which a quick search on your own may not capture.

Limits of website content

Explanations on this website, including the rights index, describe Japanese trademark, design, copyright, and trade secret law in general terms. Registration practice and court interpretation change over time, and a page may not reflect the most recent position.

To the extent permitted by law, Coral Lantern Rise Kabushiki Kaisha is not liable for loss arising from reliance on general website content where no consultation has taken place. Liability for paid services is set out in the Terms and Conditions.

Law, updates and contact

These terms are governed by the laws of Japan, and disputes concerning them are subject to the jurisdiction of the Nagoya District Court in the first instance. Revised terms are posted on this page and apply from the date of posting. Questions can be directed to the office at 110 Urushiyama, Midori-ku, Nagoya, Aichi 458-0832 or by telephone on +81 52-621-2245.
